Another year comes to a close…

Our 2023 Conversations on the Coast festival concluded this year with Botany and Scandal in Enlightenment Edinburgh, featuring author Sara Sheridan. At this event Sara delved into the Waterstones Scottish Book of the Year 2022, The Fair Botanists. Sara’s work spans multiple genres but she’s particularly celebrated for her historical fiction, and this recent novel takes the reader into the gothic and evocative setting of 19th century Edinburgh.

At the evening event, hosted in Elie and Earlsferry Town Hall on November 23, Sara took festival-goers on a captivating journey through this intriguing story. The event was the final of four events over the month of November with other featured authors including Neil Oliver, Chris Brookmyre and Mike Dickson. Sara’s event captured the attention of the community and tickets sold out, resulting in a full house on the night. The venue was buzzing with anticipation as lovers of historical fiction and rich storytelling came together to be in conversation with this award-winning author.

Festival organisers were delighted with the energy of this event, which concluded another successful festival. As this year draws to a close, Conversations on the Coast thanks everyone who supported this wonderful community-enriching festival, including our incredible authors and the local businesses who worked alongside us to make it happen.

We’ll see you again next year!
