Conversations on the Coast Returns for Its Fourth Year

Conversations on the Coast 2025: Our Most Exciting Programme Yet
We’re delighted to announce that Conversations on the Coast is back for its fourth year with what is shaping up to be our most exciting programme yet. What began as a small but ambitious idea has grown into a much-loved festival that brings world-class writers and vibrant conversations to the East Neuk village of Elie and Earlsferry.
This year, we launched the festival a little earlier than usual with a special extra event on 4 September. Journalist Jen Stout joined us for The Night Train to Odesa, an evening that sold out quickly and left the audience deeply moved and inspired.
Now, we turn our attention to November, when four exceptional events will light up Earlsferry Town Hall:
6 November – We Are Now the Problem with Denise Mina
13 November – The Shapeshifter’s Daughter with Sally Magnusson
20 November – Grantchester and More with James Runcie
27 November – Game, Set and Murder with Judy Murray
Each evening promises the lively conversation and intimate feel that define Conversations on the Coast. And if early demand is anything to go by, you’ll want to secure your tickets soon — Judy Murray’s event is already sold out.
As we celebrate our fourth year, we’re reminded of what makes this festival so special: the joy of sharing stories, the thrill of hearing from acclaimed Scottish authors, and the magic of gathering together in our coastal town to be part of it all.
Don’t miss your chance to join the conversation. Book your tickets today and be part of this growing tradition.
