Wrapping up Conversations on the Coast 2025
As we close off the year, we’re taking a moment to look back on what has been our most successful Conversations on the Coast festival to date.

In 2025, 460 tickets were sold, making this year’s festival our biggest yet. More importantly, every event was filled with thoughtful discussion, laughter, curiosity and a shared love of literature; exactly what Conversations on the Coast was created to celebrate.
This year’s programme brought an outstanding line-up of authors to Fife. Audiences enjoyed intimate and engaging events with Judy Murray, James Runcie, Sally Magnusson, Denise Mina and Jen Stout, each offering their own unique perspectives on writing, life and storytelling. From crime fiction, politics, mythology, and cultural commentary, the conversations were wide-ranging and deeply engaging.
The festival continues to show just how powerful events like this can be for Fife and the local community. Conversations on the Coast gives Fife audiences the chance to experience literary events of a scale and quality often only found in Edinburgh. But none of this would be possible without the generosity of our hosts, and we would like to extend heartfelt thanks to Earlsferry Town Hall for once again providing such a welcoming and atmospheric home for the festival. We are equally grateful to everyone who attended, supported, asked questions, and helped make each event feel special.

Conversations on the Coast is proudly run by a committee of volunteers, all of whom care deeply about celebrating Scottish authors and creating meaningful, accessible cultural experiences for people in Fife. We’re especially proud that 100% of surveyed attendees rated the event as either good or excellent. That feedback means the world to us and reinforces why we do what we do.
Thank you for being part of Conversations on the Coast 2025. We look forward to welcoming you back in 2026 for more unforgettable conversations.
